Balmoral Fort Climbing Frame

  • A great climbing frame which my boys love. It took a fair amount of time to put together but the instructions were clear and very comprehensive. My two boys (2 and 6ys) have decided it is their fort and they have already had hours of fun playing on it! I would definitely recommend this to anyone, it looks great even in my small garden.

  • Bought this a year ago and is still looking good. Materials are decent quality and I was concerned about the longevity of the tarpaulin roof but it's still in good order despite the wet winter. Would highly recommend.

Balmoral Fort Climbing Frame

  • Ahhhh, our beloved castle! My 2 boys love their 'Castle' and treat it as somewhere to dictate their orders to, as a cinema where they can watch Frozen as many times as they want without making us tear our ears off, and they regularly pedal their wares from the 'shop window', such as potatoes, bolts and pants. Recently they started up a 'cake business' from the sandpit beneath selling such treats as 'castle cake' and 'dino pudding'. It has also been adapted into 'mega ultra splash land', by adding an 'olympic sized' paddling pool at the bottom of the slide. So far, the castle has survived a 100mph hurricane, 8 feet snow drifts and a pretty big tantrum involving a 4 year old and a massive stick. So this shows, that the 'castle' has been one of the most important and best quality fixtures in the garden we have ever bought!

  • NOT for the faint-hearted!! Took almost a week to build and was not a lot of fun! Pleased with the final product although ordered some accessories to go with it.......steering wheel, telescope and binoculars but has a mesh wall round every look out point so not much use. Not impressed with customer service and after sales care team either.

  • We spent ages looking for the perfect play equipment for our garden. We live in a rural village and didn't want the frame to dominate the garden or view. We found the perfect play house and slide for the kids, they always use it to picnic in - rain or shine! It's loved by all who visit the garden, it has even been slept in while we did star gazing live. Its also used as a 'time out/cool off' place;-). I treat the wood every year and its in great condition. Our garden wouldn't be the same without it and its got years and years of use left. Thank you Climbing Frames UK. The Robinson family

  • Excellent sturdy climbing frame and slide used by children in my childminding setting aged from 2 and up! Great for developing independence, gross motor skills and above all fantastic fun! The good quality construction even means that it survived being blown over when we had gale force winds!

Balmoral Fort Climbing Frame
  • Our grandsons are really pleased with their new climbing frame despite having to wait 7.5 hours for 4 adults, one a qualified cabinet maker, to build it. Overall we are really satisfied with how robust the climbing frame is but this was overshadowed by the complexity of the build and the quality of some of the pieces of wood and a missing bolt. Having read the reviews on your website before purchasing the climbing frame and your 45 page instruction manual we were aware that it would take a while to build and that we needed to follow the instructions carefully. Our first issue was that each piece of wood had two references the part number that was stamped on the wood, some of which were difficult to read, and a two digit reference in the instructions. A small sticker with the two digit reference number on each piece of wood would have helped save time. The bottom half of the climbing frame went together quite quickly and easily. However the top half took twice as long and felt overly complicated. Fitting the mesh windows was very fiddly and meant that we had to undo bolts that were already secured. Given how substantial the rest of the climbing frame is the windows let it down slightly and meant that there was only one place left to mount the telescope. Cardboard spacers would have been helpful to ensure that the right size gaps were left between the floorboards and the side panels. Your spacing for the side panels were not equal which looked a bit odd. We found the instructions for which screws and washers to use quite confusing and didn't have enough of some of the washers. We felt the design of the roof and how the covering went on wasn't as good as it could have been, given how well designed the rest of the climbing frame is.

We would have contacted you about the faulty pieces of wood and missing washer, but as one piece was a corner post and an integral piece of the climbing frame we glued it together as we didn't want to disappoint two small boys who had been waiting a long time to have their climbing frame built.

Although we had a couple of issues and the climbing frame took all day to build we would recommend your product to others. Great Granddad, who helped build the climbing frame has also personalised it as shown in the attached picture.
